In November 2019, it was announced that Paramount, the studio behind Rocketman, and Graham King, the producer of Bohemian Rhapsody, teamed up for a Bee Gees movie.
It is now reported that Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Cinderella) the film about the pop group behind hits like Stayin’ Alive in How Deep Is Your Love is going to direct.
The script is owned by Ben Elton (Blackadder), with whom Branagh previously collaborated on the Shakespeare film All Is True.
The Bee Gees was made up of brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. Barry Gibb, the only member of the group still alive, is deeply involved in the film and will like executive producer performance.
