By 2023, the program will be extended to mothers of families affected by breast or cervical cancer.

Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla and Carolina Rangel Gracida, Welfare Secretary, Provided Support to 405 Families Caring for Girls and Boys with Cancer, Representing an Investment of More than 17 Million Pesos from the State-sponsored Program .

The president indicated that it is a priority to work on actions to benefit the vulnerable population and for this reason it was decided to support families who take care of daughters and sons with cancer with 4,000 pesos a month, so that they can cover transfers, food , accommodate or integrate cancer treatments, if necessary.

“The attention requires expenses and for this reason it has been thought to pay them for the duration of treatment or medical supervision, because you can anticipate the disease when you assist it in time and constantly,” he said.

Ramírez Bedolla also announced that, by 2023, the program will be extended to mothers of families affected by breast or cervical cancer.

Welfare Secretary Carolina Rangel Gracida announced that today begins the delivery of resources for the last two months of the year to support families caring for girls and boys with cancer.

“During 2022, more than 17 million pesos were dispersed, benefiting 405 families in 93 municipalities, demonstrating that without corruption much can be done to benefit the most vulnerable groups,” he said.

He added that children with cancer are treated in the IMSS and ISSSTE hospitals in the capital of Michoacán, as well as in hospitals in Colima, Mexico City, Mexico State, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Puebla and Querétaro, thanks to the good neighbor policy in the government of the state.

Alma Laura Yerena Villanueva and Nancy Mendoza Gutiérrez, beneficiaries of the program, thanked the governor for the support that comes directly without intermediaries, because with this they cover the needs they have in order not to leave the care of their children due to lack of financial resources.
