Bed Bath & Beyond to close several stores

Three Bed Bath & Beyond stores in our city are among nearly 90 nationwide that the company is closing before possible bankruptcy.

That includes two locations in Brooklyn, including Sunset Park and East New York.

Also, a store in East Elmhurst will soon close its doors.

Bed Bath & Beyond is also closing a BuyBuy Baby location in Sunset Park.

Last week, the company warned that it cannot pay its debts and that it has defaulted on its line of credit.

Reuters reports that Bed Bath & Beyond is preparing to seek bankruptcy protection as soon as this week.
