This increase is up from 7.8 million units in April and became the fastest selling game console in 249 days since the launch. The high demand for PS5 as the fastest-selling game console at the global level, is a new history for us Sony in the world’s gaming industry.

There is so much demand, one thing that is still holding back PS5 sales at the moment is the scarcity of chip availability. Limited supply sometimes makes it difficult for potential buyers to find PS5 on the market due to the global shortage of chips.
“I want gamers to know that while we continue to have unique issues around the world impacting our industry and others, increasing supply is a top priority for SIE,” he added.
Sony has not only managed to boost sales of the PS5. Some of the PS5 games that have achieved the highest sales include Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which has sold more than 6.5 million copies since November, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which has sold 1.1 million copies since its launch last month, and Returnal. which has sold more than 560 thousand copies since April.(FANDI PERMANA)
