Becoming a Familiar Face: Caroline Nitter’s Journey from Reality TV to Norway’s Toughest Celebrity

Caroline Nitter (25) became a familiar face after she took part in the reality series “Ex on the Beach – Afterski”. Since then, she has shone on red carpets, shared glamorous photos on social media and can now be seen in “71° nord – Norway’s toughest celebrity”.

– Had some breakdowns

Apparently, life is a bed of roses for the 25-year-old, but Nitter experienced grief and loss early on. At the age of 18, she lost her father to cancer.

– My father became very ill and passed away. Then I got a shock. I was such a daddy’s girl. He has always been my role model, says Caroline in “71° nord”.

Life over

Nitter describes an active upbringing with lots of trips and outdoor activities. The family had just returned home from a skiing holiday in 2016, when her father hurt his knee.

Opens up about grief

He was a doctor himself, but at first he didn’t think too much about the pain. But it was cancer, and when it was discovered it went quickly.

– He worked with cancer patients himself, and then you might forget your own health a little. Then he disappeared just nine months later, and then I felt that “now my life is seriously over”, the 25-year-old said in the podcast “Chit-chat with Helle”.

The TV profile said she went through both denial and shock after her father’s passing. For a long time she tried to be exactly who she felt her father wanted her to be, which only made the pain worse.

– It was far from what was needed for me to be happy, because I got so depressed in the end that I just had to run away to Bali, simply, she said in the podcast.

– It’s going to hell

Grateful for life

The influencer has told Se og Hør that the bad experience has made her more grateful for life.

– You have to work a little on being grateful for the moments you have. It is something you always carry with you, but which you learn to live with, she said.

On tour with the other celebrities in “71° north”, Nitter made a big impression. She has taken challenges head on, and shown many new sides of herself. She believes her father would have been proud of her efforts.

– Wants a real man

– He thought I was a bit too silly, but he had been proud that I was going on a trip. Then he would have been satisfied, she says in the programme.

In her childhood, Caroline went on a lot of trips, while in adulthood she has made big headlines for beauty interventions and scandalous TV. She sees herself as the “underdog” of the season, and is looking forward to surprising the viewers.

– I feel very lucky. I’m not a sports star, and I don’t have a good reputation to uphold. I have everything to gain from this, says Nitter to Se og Hør. She doesn’t care what others think of her.

– I don’t want to prove anything to others, but I hope that I will be proud of my own efforts, she continues.

Want to beat the ex

Another goal for the trip is to beat ex-boyfriend Cristian Brennhovd (24), who last year finished sixth in the same program.

– It is so motivating. He had an advantage in that he is strong, but I think we are just as stubborn. I might even be a notch more stubborn than him, so maybe I can beat him on that. I go 100 percent for victory, the influencer asserts.

Before leaving, Nitter said that she was open to a flirtation, and that the choice would then fall on artist Kevin Lauren (35). The two got a very good tone. In retrospect, they have hinted at a little flirtation, without elaborating on what happened on the trip.

Nitter has revealed that she showed Kevin the breasts as a birthday present, and admits that they eventually got a kick out of the production.

– We were told by the production that this was a family programme. And there are some things we won’t bring because it’s too much, she says cheerfully.

You didn’t get to see this

Today, the 25-year-old is single.

– Love goes to hell. My love life is non-existent. I’m not on a date, and I also feel that no one is actually dating now, she says.
