Become an eco-builder of the future with Egis

Decarbonize all your projects? This is the challenge that intends to take up Yes by 2030. The group needs your boldness to design the city and mobility of tomorrow. Join the building teams of Martine Jauroyon (Institut de Physique du Globe, Strasbourg 83), Director of Sustainable Development and Engagement of the Egis Group.

Generalize eco design, the new technical signature of Egis?

As engineers, we have a superpower: that of revisiting the way we design projects. We intend to generalize eco-design to all of our activities. This means challenging our constructive and technical approaches through the prism of their environmental impact. It is a transformation that has led us to thoroughly review our methods, our tools and to invest in training. Our repository Act4Ecodesign structures our systemic approach around seven environmental themes. Our multi-year training program will involve 5,600 project managers around the world.

We organize sessions of Climate Fresco in our different sites. In addition, as part of a partnership with Axa Climate, we will very soon deploy a Eco passa multilingual awareness program for all of our 19,500 employees, giving them the keys to deciphering environmental issues and thus being active in the transformations to be carried out. We want to be a leader in the decarbonization of our sectors of activity. My common thread? Consistency between our commitments and our daily actions.

Quèsaco plural innovation?

Innovation is too systematically reduced to technology. Of course, we use new solutions made possible by digital technology and artificial intelligence, but we must also explore sobriety practices, work on behavioral changes and on new business models based on use and functionality. and sharing. Our innovation is therefore multifaceted.

Last year we created The Laban internal Egis incubator, which supports those with promising ideas and boosts their marketing. We have already supported startups Cycle-upa platform for reusing construction materials, Seaboost which develops proactive solutions for marine biodiversity and Soil.is which reinforces the carbon sequestration potential of the soil.

Your punchlines to attract new talent?

If you want to work on projects with a strong impact on people’s living environment and respect for the planet: join us! Our group is growing: 5,000 employees recruited last year around the world (including 1,500 in France). We are hiring in all technical engineering professions, but also business developers and social economists. Our career support policy allows talents to progress in all sectors of activity: transport, construction, energy, environment. Our challenge? Hybridize skills to design the territories of tomorrow.

Impact for anchoring

I always wanted to be a geophysicist. My first role model was my grandfather, a farmer, who introduced me to the complexity and beauty of the world. The Earth is a fascinating and complex system, but today it is dysfunctional. Climate change, degradation of biodiversity, depletion of natural resources: the entire living world of which Humanity is a part is in danger! Hence the common thread that guides me on a daily basis: helping to invent a new model of prosperity. This is why I joined the board of directors of the France network of the United Nations Global Compact and as vice-president of Syntec Ingénierie where I am responsible for climate strategy.

Crazy equipped

In 1984, as part of my engineering thesis, I went out of my way to go with my supervisor to go on an oceanographic campaign in the Pacific Islands. It was the first time that a woman was part of such a scientific crew: such a foundational field experience!
