With a single touch, video call participants can see each other in virtual costumes taken from the play.

The Facebook blog announced this feature Sunday (11/7). “Now anyone can become a Harry Potter character by touching the ‘Curtain Call’ button in the range of effects available in the Portal. You can choose one of three locations available in the menu to visit: Hogwarts Great Hall, Ministry of Magic, and Forbidden Forest Edge.
“When the light comes on, each participant in the video call will receive a unique spell that is randomly assigned to transform into a Harry Potter character. Just nod your head or touch the screen to activate the spell and watch the changes take place.”
This AR filter will turn the user into one of the Harry Potter characters who magically will also adjust their costumes to skin color, “video call participants will become Harry Potter characters in their entirety thanks to skin color matching technology that will make the characters on screen have the same skin as yours. .”
This feature can be used on Portal and is now only available in America and the UK. For those who don’t have Portal, “Instagram and Facebook users can also enjoy this AR filter through the stories feature,” the announcement said.
Recently, Facebook has been aggressively developing their AR technology and opening the gate for individual creators who want to create their own filters.
