Romeo James Beckham (21), the second son of retired soccer star David Beckham (48), will play on loan for English professional soccer club Brentford B.
Brentford said on 7 (Korean time) via the club’s website, “Romeo has been signed by Inter Miami (USA) on loan until the end of the 2022-2023 season.”
Romeo, who learned football in earnest in Arsenal’s (England) youth academy in 2013 when he was 11, signed a contract with second team Inter Miami in 2021, owned by his father Beckham.
The team, then Fort Lauderdale, changed its name to Inter Miami II last year.
Romeo recorded 2 goals and 10 assists in 20 games in the MLS Next Pro League reserve league last season, and Inter Miami II finished sixth in the Eastern Conference.
Since the end of the season in September last year, Romeo has been training with the Brentford B side and will play on loan once the international transfer process is finalised.
In his first interview with the club, Romeo said: “I’m very proud and happy to be here.
I’m excited to see what I can do here.”
