Was the bill settled quickly, in your opinion? “Unfortunately: Electricity often costs 2.5 to 3 times more than gas,” says Verbeke. “So it doesn’t make much difference to your wallet with what you heat. Unless, of course, you can’t cut the cost of electricity.”
Can you make the heating work with the electricity you produce yourself? Or do you still have an advantageous fixed electricity tariff? “So you can effectively heat a little less with air conditioning,” says Verbeke. “It depends on several factors, of course, but in general, air conditioning is cheaper when the price to pay for a kilowatt hour of electricity is less than 2.5 times the price of a kilowatt hour of natural gas.”
