JAKARTA – Gen Z is synonymous with the cashless generation. Using non-cash payments is the choice of young people because it is considered more practical, safe, easy and efficient.
This was conveyed by the Country Manager of TECNO Mobile Indonesia, Anson Xia. Anson said the Near-Field-Communication feature or better known as NFC is very much needed by young consumers. “So even with a cheap cellphone price, there must still be an NFC feature,” explained Anson.

According to Anson, NFC is very useful for checking e-toll card balances, checking and refilling electronic money balances, as well as facilitating user productivity. For example sending and receiving data, sharing contacts, also connecting two devices by pasting.
“NFC is very useful especially during a pandemic. This is because the Covid-19 pandemic has forced people to reduce physical contact between humans, including
payment in cash because the exchange of money is at risk of transmitting Covid-19,” explained Anson. NFC technology also supports the government’s movement to achieve the National Non-Cash Movement (GNTT), which has been promoted since 2014.
Reporting from the Ipsos Marketing Summit 2020, public enthusiasm for using the NFC feature is also increasing with the increase in non-cash payments in Indonesia by 44% during the pandemic.

Therefore, Tecno Mobile seeks to bring NFC in the entry level class. “Under Rp. 1.5 million, our newest product, which will be released on August 30, 2021, already carries NFC,” he explained
