The Turkish club Hatayspor submitted a request to withdraw from the Turkish league competitions due to the earthquake that struck the city, destroying many buildings and leaving thousands dead.
Hatayspor occupies the fourteenth place in the Turkish League standings table, after 21 rounds of the life of the competition, with 23 points collected from winning 6 matches, drawing 5 and losing 10 matches.
In the last match before the competition stopped, he was defeated by four goals to one against neighboring Gaziantep.
And Mehmet Buyukekci, President of the Turkish Football Association, announced that Hatayspor had informed the federation that it would not play its matches this season.
He said: “If the Gaziantep team also wants to withdraw from the league, then among our plans is to continue with 17 teams, provided that the rights of these two clubs remain the same.”
And the President of the Turkish Football Association announced the start date of the league matches scheduled for March 3 and 4.
