Because of the 2G rule: Is it getting incredibly quiet at Dynamo against Düsseldorf?

Dynamo Dresden has to switch to the 2G rule against Fortuna Düsseldorf. Only 16,000 fans are allowed into the Rudolf Harbig Stadium to boycott the Ultras.

Dresden – Dynamo Dresden didn’t want to, but had to react. The SGD has switched its hygiene concept to 2G. The Free State demanded this at major events at the beginning of the previous week. In contrast to other clubs that use the concept voluntarily, the club is not allowed to use the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion to full capacity. Against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the almost usual 16,000 fans are allowed into the stadium – that is, half.

Together with the “TeamSportSachsen” initiative, those responsible at the SGD have sought contact with the Saxon state government and the state capital Dresden at various levels over the past few weeks.

“The current development worries us all at Dynamo Dresden and we are aware of our responsibility as the organizer of major events in this exceptional situation,” says Dynamo’s managing director Jürgen Wehlend (56) on the Dynamo homepage.

“Nevertheless, we can state that with the hygiene concept we worked out and implemented in our eight home games so far this season, there has been no known corona case in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.”

Dynamo underpins Wehlend’s statement with an “analysis of the readmission of spectators” published by the German Football League (DFL): Of a total of 2.1 million stadium visitors to the 145 games played up to October 14, 2021, just nine people tested positive afterwards .

That corresponds to 0.00043 percent of all viewers. No club is known to have infected other people in the stadium in this context.

“We have adapted our hygiene concept to the new 2G conditions for the advance warning and overload level and have received approval from the Dresden Health Department. Even though we have advocated keeping the 3G regulation in the stadium, the current situation obviously makes 2G indispensable.” , so Wehlend.

16,000 fans are allowed into the stadium on Sunday against Düsseldorf. However, it is questionable whether these will come. After all, the Ultras Dynamo have already announced their boycott due to 2G.

So it could be relatively or eerily quiet, which only one will not annoy: Fortuna Düsseldorf.
