During the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia issued several directives that reduce the increase in the number of unjustified caesarean sections, in exchange for an increase in the demand for natural births, in the context of protecting the health of the mother and fetus and improve public health of citizens, explaining that the directives to reduce births An unnecessary cesarean section aims to reduce the serious negative results of this procedure, which exposes the mother to several risks, including the penetration of the placenta, the hysterectomy during childbirth, massive childbirth bleeding, as well as complications for children and future generations due to the increase in intestinal bacteria, obesity and allergies, autism, diabetes and autoimmune diseases.
Abdul-Ghani stressed that the measures that the Minister of Health and Population intended to take to reduce unnecessary caesarean sections include orienting the fees of doctors and medical staff to equal the fees for births with the same for caesarean deliveries and the assignment of an incentive financial contribution for the medical team that achieves higher natural birth rates, directed through the organization of periodic training for medical teams in service, with the address of the heads of medical facilities government and private, to collect health information and routine data on caesarean sections and their causes, to achieve data governance, analyze all causes of caesarean delivery, and oblige all private and government hospitals to work with related guidelines the causes and controls of the recourse to delivery Caesarean section.
And he’s been tasked with carrying out questionnaires and studies in residential areas, to uncover data that helps improve ways of encouraging pregnant women to adopt the idea of natural birth, as well as holding community discussions on the harms of cesarean delivery, and increasing psychological education sessions for women suffering from fear of pain, underlining the need to activate the role of civil society to participate in the consolidation of correct concepts on natural childbirth and its benefits for mother and child, and the harms of Caesarean section “without medical justification”, and the implementation of an intense media campaign to educate women and their husbands about the harms of unjustified cesarean section and its danger to the mother and the fetus, examining the benefits and advantages of Natural childbirth.
