In the late afternoon on Sunday, the Plovdiv District Prosecutor’s Office extended the arrest of Penov, who is charged with minor bodily injury, by another 72 hours. Procedural and investigative actions are carried out in the pre-trial proceedings. The beater’s 24-hour detention was coming to an end, but the prosecution ruled that he should remain behind bars.

“I have done nothing wrong to anyone. I have been selling socks in Plovdiv for more than 20 years and people know me. So far I have not had any problems.
