From childhood, the artist knew what he wanted to devote his life to.
Sergei Ostapenko gained fame throughout the country for his lead role in Yevgeny Sherstobitov’s film “The Tale of the Malchish-Kibalchish”. The young actor attracted the attention of viewers and experts who praised his work and predicted a successful future. However, Sergei himself chose a completely different fate for himself.
As it turned out, the young actor was not enthusiastic about his new profession. He was attracted neither by popularity nor by the magic of cinema. Therefore, after filming with Sherstobitov, he decided to quit acting and refused all offers.
Much more Ostapenko attracted science. After school, he was able to enter the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which is considered one of the best educational institutions in the country. The ex-film star stood out for his diligence and in 1988 he was able to receive a scholarship that allowed him to go to work in Stuttgart.
Returning to the USSR, the celebrity was ready to embark on the path of scientific achievements, but the collapse of the country led to a crisis in the field of research. Ostapenko was left without work, but foreign companies began to invite him to work on a contract basis. Therefore, in 1992, he left with his family for the United States, where he got a job at the University of North Carolina.
The screen star never returned to his homeland. Today she continues to live in America, where she opened her own company and fully revealed her scientific potential.
