On the afternoon of the 9th, the public health center in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, announced that it had secured new recruits for men in their 30s, A and B, at a motel in Sujeong-gu.
Earlier, Mr. A was diagnosed with Corona 19 at the temporary screening clinic at Yatap Station, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si on the 5th, and was confirmed on the 6th the next day. Mr. A, however, was cut off from contact with the mobile phone turned off immediately after the public health center was informed of the confirmation.
Mr. B was examined at the temporary screening clinic installed in the Sujeong-gu Public Health Center on the 7th, and after being confirmed on the 8th, he also went into hiding. Mr. B is known to have undergone a diagnostic test using Mr. A’s mobile phone number.
According to Sujeong-gu Health Center, Mr. A and Mr. B were known while working in the same part-time job.
In an investigation by the authorities, Mr. A and Mr. B are known to have stated that they were’worried about hospital expenses’ about the reason for their stay.
Prior to this, Seongnam City cooperated with the police to identify the whereabouts of Mr. A and Mr. B, and accused them of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act. If an epidemiological investigation is rejected, obstructed or avoided without justifiable grounds, it may be subject to imprisonment for up to two years or a fine of up to 20 million won according to the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.
Seongnam City plans to actively review claims for reimbursement rights in case of community infection caused by them.
