San Francisco (Kalifornien/USA) – Elon Musk (50) has made headlines in recent days after becoming Twitter’s largest shareholder with a 9.2 percent stake. Now there is another stir around the Tesla boss – due to an idea that he and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (58) put together on the platform.

The richest man in the world recently explained on his account that the majority of the employees at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco do not work in the on-site office, but rely on remote work and home offices.
So the huge building is actually not needed at all.
In a Twitter poll, he turned to his approximately ten million followers: “Turn the headquarters of Twitter San Francisco into a homeless shelter because nobody is there anyway?”

In total, more than 1.5 million people took part in the survey – 91 percent of them voted “yes”.
The tweet has since been deleted, but Musk stressed shortly afterwards: “By the way, I’m serious!”

Jeff Bezos is also keen on the idea

The idea was not only well received by his fans. Bezos also reacted enthusiastically and shared an article from the technology blog “GreekWire” from May 2020.
It talks about an eight-story Amazon homeless shelter adjoining its Seattle headquarters.
“It worked great and makes it easier for employees who would like to help,” said the 58-year-old. He also explained that it does not have to affect the entire building and that it would certainly be enough to convert part of the Twitter headquarters.

Musk enthusiastically agreed: “Great idea!”
Whether these two were just messing around here, or whether they’re really going to transform Twitter headquarters into a home for homeless people, only time will tell.
