A 69-year-old man went to a kiosk in Høje-Taastrup in Denmark to check his lottery ticket.
There he was told to contact Danske Spil because he had won an amount that was over 5,000 Danish kroner.
– I thought: “Fine, then I can afford a new bike”, the 69-year-old tells Danish games.
It turned out that the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, had been able to afford to buy more than just a new bicycle.
Celebrated two days in a row
Back home, the 69-year-old’s son helped call to see how much he had actually found.
Then the Dane learns that he has won a whole million Danish kroner. This corresponds to just under 1.4 million Norwegian kroner.
The recent millionaire says that he has played the lottery since he was young, but never won more than a few hundred kroner.
– We celebrated by eating out two days in a row. Now life will be sweeter, says the lottery winner.
Walker gift
The million profit came in “the count’s time” as the Dane won only two days before the 69-year-old and his wife went to the bank for a loan for an apartment.
The couple will move out of their house and into an apartment, and now they can sit debt free in their new apartment.
The couple wants to spend the rest of the money for the summer holidays after almost two years in because of the corona.
There is also a very special gift waiting for the wife:
– Now my wife can get a new walker, which she can wear on the beach. You can get one with wide tires, then she can go with it on gravel paths and cobblestones, says an overjoyed winner.
