The broadcaster ProSieben announced on Twitter that “Beauty & the Nerd” will not be shown until next year:
Unfortunately, we have to postpone the broadcast of ‘Beauty & the Nerd’ to 2023. Like all #BeautyNerd fans, we were really looking forward to the start. But unfortunately we can’t broadcast as planned from June due to production-related reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience.

“Production reasons”?!
What is meant by “production-related reasons” is not revealed. One of the candidates, Valentina Doronina, lets out a lot of frustration on Instagram. She is super annoyed that the broadcast has been postponed to next year. She also hints that one of the candidates may have made sure at the last minute that “Beauty & the Nerd” will not be shown. She herself should not be the reason for the late start.
Think ten times whether you want to go on TV or not because you can’t undo things. […] The reason why this was postponed is unbelievable. Really: It’s unbelievable! […] I have no words for some people. It’s just a kindergarten. The biggest kindergarten I’ve ever experienced in the trash.
