On October 18, Chen Guifen (deputy bureau level), former member and vice chairman of the Beijing Yanqing District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was officially notified of investigation by the Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection for “serious violations of discipline and law,” attracting media attention.
The report stated that Chen Guifen was disloyal to the party and illegally accepted gifts and arrangements for beauty activities. She took advantage of her position to seek benefits for others in contracting projects and land development, and illegally accepted property from others.
In fact, in the notifications of fallen CCP officials, expressions such as “accepting beauty activities” and “addicting to beauty” have appeared many times in recent years. The so-called “beauty corruption” refers to cases of corruption and bribery that occur due to receiving beauty treatments.
In April this year, Kong Xianghui, former vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of Haixi Prefecture in Qinghai Province and former secretary of the Mangya Municipal Party Committee, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in the first instance. According to official reports: Kong Xianghui and his wife went to Chengdu, Shanghai and other places for beauty and plastic surgery many times, spending 3.06 million yuan and squandering illegal gains.
In addition, Du Xiaoyang, a former deputy to the National People’s Congress of Chongqing’s Wanzhou District and former deputy secretary of the party committee and president of Chongqing Safety Technology Vocational College, who was crazy about plastic surgery, “smiled and shed tears of regret” more than once after her dismissal because of her excessive appearance. It is difficult to show even a sad expression on the face that has undergone plastic surgery.
It turns out that Du Xiaoyang was crazy about plastic surgery and enjoyed the illusion of youth in the praise of others for being “beautiful and in good shape.” And Du Xiaoyang, who frequently swiped 100,000 yuan on his credit card for plastic surgery, actually regarded students with financial difficulties as a cash cow.
What’s even more amazing is that Liu Guangming, the former director of the State Taxation Bureau of Anshan City, Liaoning Province, is over fifty years old, but at first glance, he looks like a girl in her late twenties. He spent nearly 5 million yuan on plastic surgery in Hong Kong and other places. The cost of plastic surgery on his buttocks alone amounted to more than 500,000 yuan. He was jokingly called the “most beautiful butt” in Anshan City.
At the same time, “artificial beauty” has become Liu Guangming’s capital. In just a few years, she jumped from an ordinary deputy director of the tax office to the director of the Anshan Municipal Taxation Bureau, and was said to be a “rocket promotion.” According to official materials, the Anshan State Taxation Bureau in Liaoning, controlled by Liu Guangming, has tax loopholes of at least 800 million to 900 million every year.
Corruption in the Chinese Communist Party’s officialdom is well known to the world. In addition to the fundamental factors of the communist totalitarian system, Jiang Zemin’s corruption in governing the country accelerated the spread of corruption and promiscuity in the officialdom. Previous survey data showed that 95% of corrupt CCP officials investigated had mistresses, and more than 60% of corrupt officials were related to having “mistresses.”
