Beauty Clinic Fraud Ring in China Steals One Crore Rupees: Shocking Details Emerge

Shocking stories of fraud are emerging every day. According to the South China Morning Post, a fraud group focused on beauty clinics in China stole one crore rupees in four months.

They used to extort money from beauty clinics by threatening the owners of the beauty clinics by pretending that they had lost their eyes during the cosmetic treatment. They had won up to four lakh rupees each time through fraud. Reports are coming out that from August to November 2022, they acquired around one crore rupees through fraud in 20 beauty clinics.

The fraud was led by two people, Qian and Xu, who ran a beauty clinic in Yichang, Hubei Province, central China. They had a team of 9 people who were specially trained to carry out the fraud.

They used mydriatic eye drops to make fake wounds in the eyes and feign blindness. Eye muscle relaxants are used by doctors to examine the inside of a patient’s eye, etc. After ingesting this medicine, you may experience blurred vision for some time.

Their scam begins with an online appointment at a beauty clinic for facial hyaluronic acid injections. Hyaluronic acid injection is one of the treatments given in beauty clinics to reduce facial wrinkles and increase complexion. They arrive at the clinic on the appointed date and during the treatment, they put the mydriatic eye drops which the staff have kept in their hands on their eyes. They then impose it on the staff, pretending to lose their eyesight.

He then threatens to lodge a complaint with the police if the demanded money is not paid as compensation. Fearing a police case, the owners of the beauty clinic pay the money they demand. The police investigation revealed that they had stolen up to four lakh rupees each time. They used to divide the money they got equally.

This huge fraud group was caught during the investigation conducted by the police on the complaint of a beauty clinic owner. The South China Morning Post reports that the court has now sentenced the defendants to a fine of 2,000 to 50,000 yuan and a prison sentence of nine months to 10 years.
