Thanks to this film, the original animated fairy tale Beauty and the Beast from Disney was transformed into a fictional story in 2017, when the beautiful Princess Bella (Emma Watson) is trapped by a scary animal (Dan Stevens) in her castle. Bella soon discovers that the cursed servants and the animal themselves are kind, and that a noble and warm prince is hiding beneath the monstrous exterior.
The animal was originally to be played by another actor
The role of the ugly animal beast was first offered to actor Ryan Gosling, but he rejected it and preferred to nod to the role in the film La La Land. In the end, the director decided to entrust the role of the cursed prince to Dan Stevens, which ultimately turned out to be the right move.
The shooting of the film was connected by one magical date
It’s unbelievable that four actors with the same date of birth met while shooting one film. Emma Watson, Emma Thompson, Luke Evans and Nathan Mack were born on the same day, April 15th. This date was also the first day when the cast was divided.
Bella had a beautiful dress
Beautiful spectators dress are admired by all spectators, and especially by women. However, preparing these dresses required a lot of time and work. 900 meters of thread and over 12,000 hours of design work. The dress is also studded with 2,160 Swarovski crystals, which add to the elegance of the whole dress.
Dance scenes were a problem for Emma Watson
Emma Watson had a problem with not to look at her feet during the legendary dance scene. Her dance partner Dan Stevens wore steel-toed shoes, and Emma was afraid he would step on her foot and crush her.
The make-up artist had a lot of work to do
The make-up artist also had special and long work before each shoot. She had to focus on the mask of not only the cursed prince in the beast, but also in the depiction of the cursed servants. Luke Evans, who played Gaston, even had to wear false teeth during filming, as he actually has slightly larger canines. The vampire’s appearance did not fit the role of Gaston at all.
This fairy tale with wonderful processing and acting performances will delight you with its magical atmosphere and interesting scenes, which you will definitely not see in the animated version.
