Patek Philippe, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breguet, Piaget, Omega, IWC, etc. All the big names are there, along with lesser known brands or those that have disappeared from the market. In all, around a hundred watchmaking lots, including a few rarities that should please vintage enthusiasts.
Remember that since last year, the vws.fr (Vintage Watch Story) merchant site, specializing in vintage collector’s and adventure watches, and its watchmaker expert Jean-Claude Guyon have launched a partnership with the young Bordeaux auction house. Quinconces.
“After many years spent as an expert watchmaker at the Drouot hotel, I wanted to develop my global concept (ranging from the search for parts to the appraisal of objects, including photos and the design of catalogs), as well as communication by video and the various networks ”indicates expert Jean-Claude Guyon.
And to continue: “the approach is above all to develop quality projects in the provinces and close to home in Bordeaux. Indeed, the province also deserves great projects and this pandemic has completely reshuffled the cards for a year. This profession is changing rapidly, amateurs and enthusiasts are still loyal, but above all because of the auction platforms. A new audience is present and is no longer in theaters that have become inaccessible ”.
During the last Bordeaux Quinconces sale in November 2020, more than 400 people were registered and 90% of the lots were sold.
