Beautiful, retro and expensive: MV Agusta Superveloce 800

When history, speed and style meet in a motorcycle, it can be a bit more expensive. Whereby the price of the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 is quite cheap again on closer inspection.

After the special model MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Series Oro, which cost almost 28,000 euros, the production version of the superbike is now on the market. The Superveloce 800, available for 20,000 euros, impresses not only with its design and workmanship, but also with its technology. Its 800 cubic centimeter three-cylinder engine develops 148 hp at 13,000 revolutions per minute. The maximum torque of 88 Newton meters is available from 10,600 crankshaft revolutions. The dry weight of the eight hundred is given as only 172 kilograms, so that the ready-to-drive curb weight of the 240 km / h fast motorcycle should be just under 190 kilograms.

The frame is a steel lattice tube construction, the cladding parts in the series version are not made of carbon, but of thermoplastic. One of the special features is a headlight with full-LED technology, with the LED parking light integrated in the cockpit bracket. The circular rear light unit specially developed for the Superveloce also uses the same technology.

The Superveloce 800 also impresses with its sophisticated driving electronics.

The driving electronics of the retro-style Superveloce 800 are state of the art: ABS with rear wheel lift detection and ride-by-wire with four different motor mappings are part of it, as is dynamic traction control. Even in the series configuration, the bike captivates with sensational lines – especially when it is painted in the red / silver color combination named after Giacomo Agostini “Ago”. The model is also available in Metallic Carbon Black / Dark Metallic Gray.

With a price of 27,990 euros, the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Series Oro was probably the most expensive eight hundred of the past decade. The Italian manufacturer has issued 300 copies of the “gold bike”.
