Honor unveils in France its new laptop, the MagicBook 16 (2022) which relies on a neat aluminum design, a 144 Hz screen and solid performance for productivity.

Honor refreshes its range of laptops with a newcomer: the MagicBook 16 (2022). In its press release, the brand insists a lot on the care taken in the design of the device and the solid performance it can offer.
Regarding aesthetics, we can not help but notice strong similarities with the chassis of the Huawei MateBook 16 (not launched in France). Remember that Honor was a subsidiary of Huawei before becoming independent. Despite this resemblance, the MagicBook 16 2022 offers some differences in its characteristics.
Aluminum design and 144 Hz screen
This laptop has an aluminum design and weighs 1.84 kg. It also offers a 16.1-inch IPS screen promising a brightness of up to 300 nits. Above all, we retain the fact that the panel offers a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.

With this asset, one might think that Honor is trying to seduce a gamer audience, but this track is called into question by the absence of a GPU designed for video games. The watchword of the MagicBook 16 would therefore be rather productivity by offering a nice fluidity of display on the software that the user will consult during his working day.
The 170-degree viewing angle and 100% covered sRGB color space complete the picture.
Performance in the spotlight
Inside the PC, there is an AMD signed processor: the Ryzen R7-5800H. In the program, “a performance increase of up to 26% compared to the previous generation“. The brand also mentions a 16% improvement in graphics performance. With a frequency of up to 4.4 GHz, the emphasis is on the ability to handle heavy-duty tasks efficiently to boost productivity.

The Honor MagicBook 16 (2022) is also equipped with 512 GB of storage space and 16 GB of dual-channel RAM and 512 GB of storage. A Performance mode (Fn+P on the keyboard) allows you to further increase the power of the computer. Added to this is the promise of very good heat dissipation.
As for the 56 Wh battery, it boasts an 8 hour battery life for daily office work (8.8 hours on 1080p video playback). The 65W charger can restore 50% power in 30 minutes. For 100%, count 1.5 hours.
