Beautiful Days are coming to the city center

“It all started during a summer discussion, around a table,” says Elisabeth Parachini. “We told ourselves that Thionville lacked a place, a place that we would all have dreamed of visiting as teenagers and that we still dream …” The volunteers of the cultural association of Thionville Des Mots & Débats therefore imagine a place to host meetings on topics social and cultural, in which to bring out new projects. At the same table, the economic actors involved in the region, such as the group of social and solidarity enterprises Valo ‘, wish to offer new professional opportunities to people far from the world of work. “What if we created this place? they wowed the guests.

Being intergenerational

The project designers have set their sights on the premises located at 34 rue de la Tour, in the former Atav premises. To carry on the project and the animation of this place throughout the year, they have created in the wake of Le Comptoir de Thionville, a non-profit association that has set itself the goal of participating in the transformation of their city. Elisabeth Parachini presides over it. La Conciergerie Solidaire de Lorraine, merchants such as Les Domaines Qui Montent, Épicerie Fine-s and Les Bocaux de Camille, start-ups such as Aurel & Axel and volunteers of all ages and backgrounds quickly joined them. “Our goal is to be intergenerational,” says the Comptoir president.

“The idea is to offer an on-site bar where you can sit, just like at home, with seasonal snacks, numerous cultural events, but also a sales point for local products as well as concierge services (laundry, babysitting, ordering vegetable baskets, etc.), “explains Laura Jung, director of the Solidarity Conciergerie of the Valo ‘group. away from work. We will also work as a priority, beyond the local, with partners and suppliers of the social and solidarity economy. “

Crowdfunding invitation

But to make this project happen, the team counts on everyone’s help. A crowdfunding campaign was launched this week (www.lesbeauxjours-thionville.fr). “Your contributions will finance the development of the premises to make them a warm, comfortable place, ready to welcome you in the best conditions, from breakfast to afterwork”, says Élisabeth Parachini. “Plus, you’ll benefit from great counterparts,” adds Laura. With two equally motivated “salespeople”, Les Beaux Jours has … good times ahead. Inauguration scheduled for March 2023.
