Beaune – André le Groupe and the EFS join forces to promote blood donation

With a daily need of 600 blood donations in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, André le Groupe and the EFS are joining forces to raise awareness among the population and businesses of the importance of blood donation. Thanks to concrete communication and awareness actions, the company is actively engaged in this public health cause.

In a context of growing needs for blood bags, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) and André le Groupe have formalized a partnership to promote blood donation. The agreement was signed this Tuesday morning in the premises of the group’s Beaune headquarters, in the presence of Thierry André, president of André le Groupe, Annie Couillerot, responsible for samples for the Chalon area, as well as several members of the EFS.

A united commitment
This collaboration aims to increase awareness of blood, platelet and plasma donation within the company and the region. For two years, the EFS and André le Groupe have been working hand in hand to encourage employees to participate in this vital cause. Anne-Clémence Guillot, territorial developer for Saône-et-Loire within the EFS, recalled the context of the signing: “ We have been working together for two years now to promote blood donation among the group’s employees. » She also highlighted that the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region is particularly generous, with 4.5% of the population of giving age participating, a figure higher than the national average.

Concrete actions to promote blood donation
Caroline Sylvina, communications manager at André le Groupe, presented the concrete actions implemented as part of this partnership. They include regular communication on blood bag needs, particularly when supplies are low. The company also participates in inter-company blood donation days, such as the one organized in Chalon last year, where André le Groupe won this challenge with 37 donors, including 12 new ones. “I am proud of this partnership and the commitment of our teams,” she said.

Crucial needs for blood and plasma
Annick Couillerot from the EFS recalled the constant need for blood donations in the region. Every day, 600 blood donations are needed in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, as well as 400 plasma donations. “Stocks are fragile, with a vision of only 10 days,” she said. These donations are essential not only for blood transfusions, but also for the manufacture of medicines from plasma. “One blood donation can save three lives. It is a large altruistic chain which requires regular mobilization,” she insisted.

A civic act at the heart of André le groupe’s values
Thierry André welcomed this partnership, affirming that blood donation is a crucial civic act, aligned with the company’s values: “ Each of us, at one time or another, might need blood. This fits perfectly with our motto, “Thrive together” “. He also stressed that the company must play a role in society beyond its economic activity, by facilitating access to donations for its employees and encouraging its customers to participate.

An ongoing commitment
The signing of this agreement formalizing the commitment of André the Group marks a turning point in their collaboration with the EFS. André the Group is strengthening its actions alongside the French Blood Establishment (EFS), by actively committing to promoting blood and plasma donation among its employees and partners. The company shows that by facilitating access to nearby collections during working hours, private companies can play a key role in this civic cause. With 450 employees available, André le Groupe encourages its staff to become full participants in this solidarity commitment.

André le Groupe’s next solidarity challenges
In addition to raising awareness among its teams about blood donation, André le Groupe participates in numerous regional events to promote this vital cause:
The title will be up for grabs in the Chalon inter-organization challenge from October 28 to November 23, 2024. In 2023, 37 employees participated, including 12 for a first donation!
Participation in the blood donation challenge for Beaune companies, where the company will once again be a major player.
Involvement in the region’s various inter-organization challenges, planned between now and the end of the year in cities like Besançon.
These initiatives illustrate André le Groupe’s desire to go beyond its economic mission to become a player committed to promoting public health.

André le Groupe: a local mid-sized company serving communities
Founded in 1972 by Michel André, André the Group has transformed over the decades into an Intermediate-Sized Company (ETI), firmly established in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Today chaired by Thierry André, the group offers a 360-degree range of services, ranging from accounting to wealth management, including legal advice, investment banking and digital services. It employs 400 people and continues to expand its scope by integrating new expertise.
This partnership with the EFS reflects André le Groupe’s commitment to solidarity and public health, thus confirming its active role within the region and its involvement in causes of general interest.
