Beau van Erven Dorens jumps in the breach for Chantal Janzen. He does not think that she disappointed as a presenter of the Eurovision Song Contest. “I do not agree with that.”
Angela de Jong was yesterday in the talk show of Beau van Erven Dorens to look back on the past TV year. Of course, the Eurovision Song Contest cannot be missed. Not Chantal Janzen, but Nikkie de Jager was praised after the song festival as the big star of the presentation quartet. Still a bit painful for Chantal.
Head and shoulders
Beau: “Those Nikkie videos were really fantastic, weren’t they?”
Miljuschka Witzenhausen: “In any case, I really thought that she was head and shoulders… Of course all four of them were good, but she has a kind of accent with that English speaking and for me she is also the embodiment of the new form we are moving towards with z an all. That everyone should be able to have a place.”
‘There was only one star’
Angela agrees. “I had really thought: this will be Chantal Janzen’s show. And she did really well, but there was only one star and that was Nikkie.”
Beau then jumps into the breach for his RTL 4 colleague Chantal. “I don’t agree with that, because I think if you have Chantal as an anchor, the other three wouldn’t have made it without that anchor.”
Admirable
Angela: “I believe that too and I thought she was really good, but you could see at all times that it was Nikkie who managed to attract all eyes. This is of course partly due to the length, but also because of the ease with which she stood there. She hadn’t presented yet, especially not such a live show, and I thought that was admirable.”
Gerard Joling: “She does speak fantastic English.”
‘She led the team’
Miljuschka suddenly realized that she might have lost Chantal a bit: “What I also thought was great about Chantal, is that she was actually the one who was leading the team, without you realizing it. If you can do that and have made so much name… That you can take a step back, then you are really a great presenter.”
