It was there that Christopher Andrighetti beat his 14-year-old daughter with extraordinary brutality before she managed to take refuge with a neighbor, reports the newspaper The New York Post. The 39-year-old father was furious after the teenager revealed to her mother that she had created a profile on a social network and was potentially in a romantic relationship.
According to US media sources, Christopher Andrighetti hit his daughter with a curtain rod and a piece of wood. The young woman also told the police officer that her parent threw her to the ground before throwing objects, including glass bottles, at her. Later, investigators also found a broken Nintendo Switch. The nearly 40-year-old then orders his daughter to clean up the mess caused by his own anger. But the teenager doesn’t run.
Hidden in a closet, covered in blood
Once in his kitchen, the girl notices that the door is open. She then takes off and runs to a neighbor’s house who alerts the police. Law enforcement arrives as fast as possible and storms the house where they don’t know what to expect. After all, this abusive man may have given them a harsh reception. Yet once inside, officers found him hiding in the bedroom closet, covered in blood from self-inflicted wounds, officers said.
Unsurprisingly, Christopher Andrighetti was immediately arrested. He now he is accused of domestic violence in the first degree, domestic violence in the second degree and child abuse. Two children lived in this house. His daughter abuser is now being held in the county jail pending his bail amount to be decided in a hearing.
