‘Beatles, Stones und Star Wars’

Next Wednesday, August 7th, the Meiningen Organ Summer is once again inviting you to a special musical experience in the Meiningen town church. The concert begins at 7.30 p.m. with Michael Schütz from Berlin, who will take the audience on a personal journey through time. Tickets can be purchased from 6.30 p.m. at the box office for 10 euros.

Michael Schütz, known as the representative for popular music in the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg, presents a program that interprets pop, rock and film music on the organ in a unique way. Familiar melodies such as “All You Need Is Love” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” invite listeners to sing along inwardly, while “Tears In Heaven” reflects the hope of human existence. The impressive sound world of “Star Wars” brings heroes of the screen back to life. With pieces by Abba, Deep Purple and Queen, the concert offers epochal highlights that will delight both young and old – a treat for organ lovers, those interested in culture, Christians and people who are not religious alike.

Michael Schütz taught popular music at the Berlin University of the Arts and works as a composer and publicist. His concert activities have taken him through Germany, various European countries, as well as to Israel and the USA, including a performance at the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York.

In addition to the Wednesday concerts, the Meiningen Organ Summer also offers the popular OrgelPunkt12 series. Every Saturday at 12 noon, music lovers can enjoy half an hour of organ music, which interrupts everyday life and allows for a special musical break.
