beaten up and left unconscious for asking for a fire for his cigarette

A man in his thirties was assaulted on Tuesday in Nancy, when he had just asked a fire to light his cigarette from a group of three individuals reports L’Est Républicain.

Kicks, punches, kicks with heels in the face … The man was left unconscious on the ground in the street by his attackers, three minors aged 16 to 17.

Scene filmed and broadcast on Snapchat

Two of the attackers filmed the scene with their cell phones to broadcast it on social media.

The firefighters were alerted by a witness and the victim was rushed to hospital.

Information received by the Departmental Security Police Department allowed the police to see the video of the assault which was posted on the Snapchat social network by one of the suspects.

After a few days of investigations, the investigators identified the victim (who had not lodged a complaint) and the suspects, accommodated in an establishment of the Judicial Protection of Youth (PJJ). They were arrested and placed in police custody with a view to their indictment. The victim finally lodged a complaint.
