The audiovisual spectacle “OPERAP: THE BLIND” is inspired by Maurice Maeterlinck’s drama “The Blind” (1891). The spectacle warns of an impending ecological catastrophe and the end of the world as we know it.
“Director Marco Steeger and the creator of the libretto – Wojciech Henryk Stawiński boldly combined classical motifs with modern interpretations, warning against the future and eco-Armageddon, which may come sooner than we think. In this way, the audience will become witnesses to a dialogue between the past and the present, as well as between high culture and mass culture,” we read in the press release. Rap, opera and electronic music will resound. The narrative will be held together by a multimedia scenography, using the latest technology, including animation generated by artificial intelligence.
In “OPERAP: THE BLIND” artists will create roles arranged for them. Beata Kozidrak will perform as Thalima, Piotr Buszewski as Alaric, and OSTR – as Tayo. In addition, the Artis Symphony Orchestra in a 60-person line-up conducted by Jean-Claude Hauptmann, a 60-person choir, as well as dancers and acrobats.
The next creators involved in this project will be revealed in the coming weeks. (PAP Life)
