Beat Leicester, Everton out of relegation zone

Leicester

Everton managed to get out of the relegation zone for a while, after beating Leicester City 2-1 of Premier League. The Toffees are far from safe, but the addition of these three points lifts the morale of the squad Frank Lampard.

Come to King Power Stadium, Sunday (8/5/2022), Everton took a quick lead in the 6th minute through Vitalii Mykolenko’s volley. The hosts hit back in the 11th minute through Patson Daka, but Mason Holgate’s header in the 30th minute put the Toffees back in front.

The 2-1 score was successfully maintained until the end of the match, making Everton crawl out of the relegation abyss. Currently, Richarlison et al are in 16th position with 35 points from 34 matches, one point ahead of Burnley and Leeds United who are in 17th and 18th position but have played 35 times.

It was Everton’s second away win of the season, having last done so when they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 in August. This result also adds to the spirit of the Liverpool team in an effort to survive in the Premier League.

“It’s about commitment, attitude and team spirit. That’s what sets you off limits. It’s about team performance. Winning 2-1 at home, it’s been a long time since we last did that,” Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford told Sky Sports after fight.

“Winning 2-1 was obviously amazing, but we can’t get carried away, we have to do it again on Wednesday (against Watford),” explained the England goalkeeper.

Everton still have games against Watford, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Can they achieve positive results in these four matches, ensuring themselves to survive in the highest caste next season? Let’s wait.
