N’Golo Kante To get an award Champions League 2020/2021 Best Midfielder. He excelled Kevin De Bruyne and Jorginho.
N’Golo Kante became a crucial figure behind Chelsea’s success in winning the 2020/2021 Champions League title. This important role with the Blues earned Kante the award as the Best Midfielder of the 2020/2021 Champions League.
Kante was awarded the title of Best Midfielder in the 2020/2021 Champions League during the 2021/2022 Champions League drawing process which was held in Istanbul Turkey, Friday (27/8/2021) early morning WIB. The Frenchman won the title after beating Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne and his team-mate Jorginho.
Kante collected a total of 263 points in the votes cast to determine the winner of this title. The vote involved 24 coaches of countries participating in Euro 2020, 80 coaches who took part in the Champions League and Europa League 2020/2021, and 55 journalists.
Kante’s points are far behind De Bruyne who collected 197 points, and Jorginho who earned 149 points.
Kante is indeed irreplaceable in Chelsea’s midfield in the 2020/2021 Champions League. He always played in 13 matches to lead the London Blue Team to win.
Quoted from Opta, Kante has a tackle percentage of 80 per cent, making 11 clearances and 14 interceptions. In terms of ball distribution, he recorded a pass accuracy percentage of 86.3 percent throughout the 2020/2021 Champions League.
This is the first time Kante has received this award. In the previous edition, the title of Best Midfielder in the Champions League went to Kevn De Bruyne.
