Bears end Christmas rally in markets

Although the year-end Christmas rally only started recently, it is now coming to an end as more concerns about a possible recession emerge in the markets. Baltic stock exchanges will also be affected by the recession, according to Swedbank’s senior broker Meelis Maasik.

According to the expert, the situation in the economy is so bad that investors should be prepared for a 25-30% drop, that is, a new bear scenario is emerging.

He believes Christmas has come a little earlier than usual for US stock market investors as markets have rallied in the first three weeks of November.

Therefore, the markets are currently overbought, the risks are increasing and the market is likely to fall by Christmas. In the coming year, the broker advises investors to be more conservative and look at value stocks. He also recommends taking advantage of high interest rates: reorienting investments to bonds and dividend stocks.
