Customers made their purchases and everything was normal for the day. Until the guards noticed an unexpected ‘customer’ on the security cameras.
A bear was caught wandering the aisles of a Ralphs grocery store in Porter Ranch, in the northwestern San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California.
The animal surprised customers by walking through the aisles, like one more buyer looking for their products.
The 120-pound (54-kilogram) bear paced and sniffed inside the tent until it exited the front door.
When personnel from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife arrived, they found the cub hiding under a vehicle.
“It was decided that the best thing for public safety and for the bear was to chemically immobilize the animal. It was sent back to the Angeles National Forest to be released into a suitable habitat, ”Jake Coombs, an official with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, told the local press.
