#BeActive – Register clubs now

Across Germany, gymnastics and sports clubs are currently working hard to show up as part of the #BeActive week. They receive support from the German Gymnastics Federation in the form of downloadable posters and graphics.

The European Week of Sport already has a fixed place in the annual calendar of many clubs and organizations: from 23 to 30 September it’s time for #BeActive again. The DTB is once again the coordinator of the EU project and invites clubs nationwide to create offers, open doors and get people moving, especially during the #BeActive week. Nearly 600 have registered so far.

How important is the promotion of sport and physical exercise at the moment in clubs was shown during a press conference on Thursday (16 September 2022) in Frankfurt am Main: “In Hesse, due to the crisis, we have seen a decline of 16 per cent of club membership among children up to six years old, which places us in the national average, “said Mike Josef, head of the Frankfurt department responsible for sport and planning, adding:” we must invest in sport, provide support to the work of the club and raise awareness of sport in general. Otherwise, young people will lose their link with club sport “.

As part of a campaign at European level, #BeActive manages to give gymnastic and sports clubs the means to draw attention to themselves and their offers. In this way, the respective association can attract new interested parties to its offers and retain them for the long term. To make participation as easy as possible, the DTB offers all registered organizers free poster printing and numerous downloads with finished images, templates and social media posts.

Not only clubs and associations are required: in Frankfurt, the Frankfurt sports district brings together all the events in the city area and has gathered numerous supporters and participants. “Sport has just emerged from one crisis and is slipping straight into another. It is important to be able to offer a showcase for clubs with the European Week of Sport,” said Juliane Kuhlmann, president of the Hessian State Sports Association.

The novelty of this year is that sports card matches can also participate. A poster template in DIN A2 and DIN A3 has been created so that joint communication for events works even better. All sports badge matches are cordially invited to attend. Registration is still possible via the website www.beactive-deutschland.de possible.
