European Sport Week is just around the corner again. For the tenth time, the European Union’s exercise campaign under the #BeActive logo is taking place across Europe, where the German Athletics Federation plays the role of national coordinator. The aim of the campaign is to encourage people to exercise more and encourage them with a healthy lifestyle. In Frankfurt am Main, one of the “hot spots” #BeActive, a modern meeting of the main organizers and supporters of the region was held on Tuesday (September 11, 2024) at dizzying heights.
Frankfurt’s sports district invited people to a press conference in the city’s top fitness studio, PRIME TIME fitness. On the 53rd floor of the MAIN TOWER, sports district chairman Roland Frischkorn and DTB board member Dr. Michaela Werkmann spoke to representatives from the city of Frankfurt, the state of Hesse and the business partner Mainova AG, among others.
Those involved provided information on the current status of the campaign, which will run between September 1st and October 15th and will end between September 23rd and 30th. There are over 700 offers for the European Week of Sport on the online platform so far www.beactive.de recorded across the country. Last year around 250 were offered in the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main area alone. Associations and institutions from almost all federal states are participating in tenders. “We are happy with the extensive partnership, which is evidence of how well the European Sports Week is getting. The sports district took the lead in presenting its offers and key data from #BeActive around the Rhine-Main area for the city and the region. During the campaign week, free and inclusive sports events, test training sessions, exhibitions and demonstrations, fitness courses, workshops, conferences and lectures will be held here from 23 to 30 September. In addition to lighthouse events, there is a large decentralized offer in the region in the club areas. There are also some key events across the country, such as the #BeActive Nights, with around 40 of them organised. “We also have some great offers this year, which are particularly impressive because of their diversity.
