Beach nourishment and dune park in Salerno: the project has been approved

The funds – in part – were put on the table only a few weeks ago by the Campania Region. And now, the Municipality of Salernoor has broken the ice, trying to shorten – as much as possible – the time to get to the start of the works: the Green Sector of Palazzo Guerra led by the manager Paola Valvo has in fact approved the final project for the first lot of area 4 of the beach nourishment. This is the area where, according to the administration’s intentions, the Dune Park designed by thestar architect Manuel Ruisanchezcompleting the extension of the beaches and infrastructure for the defense of the coast up to the border with the municipal territory of Pontecagnano Faiano. But the intervention will not be carried out in its entirety: from Palazzo Santa Lucia, in fact, it was not the total economic coverage expected of 61.5 million euros but only of 41 million.

For this reason, therefore, we will proceed with the same mechanism – renamed “Brigante method”named after the former councilor for Urban Planning and Public Works of the Municipality of Salerno – also seen for area 2 of the nourishment, the one underway in the eastern area and for which work will resume at the end of the bathing season: the work will be carried out in “functional lots”, that is, they will be split up until there is total economic coverage. And the resolution with which the definitive project for area 4 of the nourishment is approved also details the section that will be built with this regional funding: the first part of the nourishment of area 4, in fact, will be built between the “Marina d’Arechi” port and the mouth of the Fuorni stream, practically at the height of the Volpe field.
