“Be cautious: CSIRT KNF warns of increasingly convincing fake websites used in phishing attacks”

Scammers use various methods to deceive us, phishing our details and thus stealing our money. Unfortunately, their ways are getting better and better. Even the fake websites they create look more like the real ones.

Phishing attacks work the same way in most cases. First, scammers send emails or text messages en masse, in which they try to trick us into clicking on the sent link. This one leads us to a fake website that is supposed to resemble the real one and phishing our data. The thing is, it’s getting harder and harder to avoid it.

CSIRT KNF warns that fake websites created by fraudsters are becoming more and more difficult to recognize. Not only do they look the same anymore, but they also have better addresses, so less cautious people can be fooled. In the URL of such websites, the names of specific institutions or banks often appear.

Be careful and remember to carefully check the address of the website you are on!

This time, CSIRT KNF presented five addresses of fake websites that are supposed to imitate the websites of iPKO, ING, Velo Bank, Pekao24 and BNP Paribas.
