Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The rupiah exchange rate against the United States (US) dollar weakened at the middle rate of Bank Indonesia (BI). Rupiah was red in the ‘arena’ spot market.
On Friday (14/8/2020), the BI middle rate or the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate / Jisdor reference rate was at IDR 14,917. Rupiah weakened 0.27% compared to the previous day’s position and touched its weakest position since mid-May.
Meanwhile on the spot market, US $ 1 is priced at Rp.14,730 at 10:00. Rupiah weakened 0.2%.
In fact, other major Asian currencies also tend to weaken against the US dollar. However, 0.2% depreciation was enough to make the rupiah the weakest.
