Bad habits are very often linked to a hectic lifestyle that now seems to have taken over. Unlikely working hours and pounding rhythms do not allow us to devote the necessary attention to taking care of ourselves. Often, in fact, we resort to meals consumed in a hurry, the classic “sandwiches on the fly”, without evaluating the real consequences. High calorie diets, loaded with sugars and fats have become increasingly widespread and normalized, unfortunately.
And if you add a sedentary lifestyle to all this, it doesn’t take much to run into pathologies such as overweight and obesity. It will seem just a common and daily way of doing things, but be careful, because there are even twelve cancers that we risk with this bad habit.
A worrying trend
Overweight and obesity are pathologies in all respects and must be kept under control. Most of the subjects who suffer from this health condition reside in the western area of the world. Among these, of course, there is also Italy, demonstrating that you eat well here, but not always in the right way.
The data of the Institute Superior of Health show how, out of 36 OECD countries, one in four people are obese in 34. Even more worrying is that of childhood obesity. The Ministry of Health categorizes it as a real threat that is far too underestimated. The risks are linked to cardiovascular problems, diabetes, type 2 asthma, in addition to those of an emotional and social nature.

A balanced lifestyle could therefore be really valuable in the fight against cancer. As reported by the World Cancer Research Fund, in fact, obesity and overweight are classified, after smoking, extremely incidental but modifiable risk elements. In fact, many doctors are pushing to improve eating habits related to cancer prevention.
A publication of the Veronesi Foundation in fact he states that one third of the episodes of neoplasia is attributable to a wrong diet. In the same publication it is then highlighted that there are even twelve cancers that could be incurred due to excess weight. They concern: cervix, esophagus, kidney, breast, pancreas, gallbladder, oral cavity, colorectal, liver, ovary, kidney, prostate and uterus.
It is therefore essential to always keep an eye on body weight, follow one diet healthy and physical activity as well as, of course, a regular and responsible medical check-up.
