The case of acute hepatitis is thought to have occurred in Indonesia. This makes the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) increased his vigilance over the past two weeks.-

The cause of acute hepatitis is still unknown. Nadia says, Ministry of Health is currently investigating reason the incidence of Acute Hepatitis through a complete viral panel examination. –

In line with this, the DKI Jakarta Health Service (Dinkes) is also conducting further epidemiological investigations.

“During the investigation period, we urge the public to be careful and remain calm. Take precautions such as washing hands, making sure food is cooked and clean, not changing eating utensils, avoiding contact with sick people, and continuing to implement health protocols,” he said. Nadia.

There are several symptoms of Acute Hepatitis that parents should watch out for. These symptoms include jaundice, abdominal pain, vomiting and sudden diarrhea, old tea-colored urine, pale stools, seizures, and decreased consciousness.

If these symptoms appear, then parents are obliged to take their children to the nearest health service facility for treatment.

Increased alertness Ministry of Health against Acute Hepatitis occurred after three pediatric patients who were treated at the RSCM died, with suspicion of suffering from the disease. –

The incident occurred in a different timeframe with a span of the last two weeks until April 30, 2022.

The three patients were referrals from hospitals in East and West Jakarta.

“The symptoms found in these patients are nausea, vomiting, severe diarrhea, fever, jaundice, seizures and decreased consciousness,” said Nadia.

WHO first received a report on 5 April 2022 from the United Kingdom of 10 cases of Acute Hepatitis of Unknown Aetiology in children aged 11 months to five years, in the period January to March 2022 in Central Scotland.-

Cases occur in the range of children aged one month to 16 years. A total of 17 children or 10 percent of them required a liver transplant and one case was reported to have died.

Clinical symptoms in the identified cases are Acute Hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes, jaundice syndrome (Yellow Disease) acute, and gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting). In most cases, there are no symptoms of fever.-

The cause of the disease is still unknown. Laboratory tests abroad have been carried out and the virus hepatitis types A, B, C, D and E were not found as reason of the disease. –

Adenovirus was detected in 74 cases overseas which, after molecular tests, were identified as F type 41.

SARS-CoV-2 was found in 20 cases, while 19 cases detected co-infection with SARS-CoV-2 and adenovirus.***
