Until now, cases of monkeypox have spread to 75 countries in the world. Citing data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the total number of confirmed cases has reached 18,095 cases as of July 25, 2022.
The United States is the country with the highest monkeypox cases, with 3,845 cases. Spain is in second place with 3,125 cases, followed by Germany with 2,352 cases, the UK with 2,208 cases, and France with 1,567 cases.
Monkey pox itself It was first discovered in 1958 in Denmark when there were two such cases of smallpox appearing in a colony of monkeys kept for research, hence the name smallpox. monkeypox or monkey pox.

So far, no cases of monkeypox have been found in Indonesia. However, the risk of human-to-human transmission is very possible, so it is necessary to remain alert to the possibility of spreading in the country.
Meanwhile, the closest country to Indonesia that has so far reported cases of monkeypox is Singapore. Until now, there have been 6 cases of monkeypox in the Lion country.
