[스포티비뉴스=장하준 기자] It brought joy to fans with fierce competition and an innovative framework.

‘BDMNTN-XL 2024’ held at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 3rd ended with Bleachers winning. ‘BDMNTN-XL 2024’, hosted by SPOTV and Eclat Media Group, received a lot of attention with new game rules that broke the format of existing badminton competitions.

This tournament does not have a 21-point, 3-set format, but 10 minutes per set. And it is an innovative method in which the player who scores more points in 10 minutes wins. In other words, there is no reference point for victory.

Thanks to this, players who participated in ‘BDMNTN-XL 2024’ attempted a fast tempo and active attack. As they had to score a lot of points within a limited time, they focused on attack rather than defense, giving enjoyment to the fans.

New items were also introduced. 3vs3, which did not exist in the existing badminton event, has been added. As the name suggests, a total of 6 players from both teams enter one court, and the game is played 3vs3. In this tournament, there are also regular singles and doubles matches, but the 3vs3 match is much more important because three points are at stake. Thanks to this, the players who participated in the 3vs3 match showed greater concentration than usual. In addition, since it was a sport that had never been seen before, it provided a wealth of entertainment for fans.

Except for 3vs3, each team can designate two events worth 2 points, and the remaining two events are automatically assigned 1 point. Thanks to this, the players not only competed on the court, but also had a brain battle outside the court where they had to decide which event was worth two points.
