This year, for the first time at the Colomiers BD Festival, the Very First Time Prize is awarded to Martin Panchaud for his first book The Color of Things, published by Çà & Là editions.
This weekend, the most important comic strip festival in the region took place in Colomiers. On the occasion of the opening on Friday 18 November, the organizers awarded a new literary prize to the festival: the Tout Première Fois prize. To do it right, it was Martin Panchaud’s comic, La Couleur des Choses, that received this accolade. This is the very first comic by this Swiss author and illustrator.
Acclaimed by the press and readers, this first book shakes reading habits by being entirely drawn from a bird’s eye view without perspective. Here all characters are represented by colored circles.
The story oscillates between comedy and thriller with an amazing graphic technique, mixing architecture, infographics and pictograms galore, which make this graphic novel a surprising and captivating book.
