BCR fires two motorists who crashed Census vehicles, and a census taker for making obscene signs – Diario La Página – 2024-05-11 17:04:33

The Central Reserve Bank (BCR) announced on social networks that it has decided to end the employment contracts of two motorists who crashed new vehicles where census takers travel to do their work, as well as fired a census taker for making obscene signs. during working hours and wearing the institution’s uniform.

On May 2, the 2024 Population and Housing Census began, for which the BCR has deployed thousands of census takers throughout the country in 190 vehicles. One day after starting work, a motorist had already seriously crashed a pickup truck, and this week another vehicle overturned, leaving no victims to regret, only material damage. The BCR said that the vehicles “are protected by damage insurance, which was applied in both cases.”

“As the institution responsible for the census, we strive for the proper use of the tools and resources given to our collaborators and for the safety of census takers,” added the institution in X.

The first accident occurred in the El Zapote canton, Tejutepeque district, Cabañas Oeste, in the department of Cabañas, while the other accident occurred in Corinto, Morazán Norte, department of Morazán.

Regarding the dismissal of a census taker for making obscene signs, the BCR reported that this person no longer worked at the institution. “Given the image that circulated on social networks of a census taker making obscene gestures during working hours and wearing a uniform from the 2024 Population and Housing Census project, the BCR informs Salvadorans that it has been decided to dispense with the services of said census taker,” detailed the BCR in X.

To carry out the census, the BCR has hired 13,000 young people who travel around the country equipped with tablets and licenses for cloud services and geographic systems, as well as carrying the proper identification.
