Liputan6.com, Jakarta The government has implemented Emergency PPKM Java-Bali and tightening of Micro PPKM until July 20, 2021. This policy is expected to overcome the surge in new cases of Covid-19 as well as restore the economy after its implementation.
President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk or Bank BCA, Jahja Setiaatmadja, hopes that the projection will go well. So that the impact of Emergency PPKM on the economy is not as big as the social tightening at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
“In 2020, the correction was very deep, we hope this time it will be a mild correction. But we don’t know yet, because we don’t know how long this Emergency PPKM will last,” he said in a webinar session, Tuesday (6/7/2021).
Jahja is still questioning, is it true that the economy can return to normal after this? Emergency PPKM ended on July 20, or even extended due to the spread of cases that have not been resolved.
“Meanwhile, until July 20, can it be opened again normally? Of course, the results of the analysis so far, whether the victims of covid can be controlled so far, it is a dilemma for us,” he said.
For example, he then highlighted business activities in the agricultural sector, where there is a diversification of different percentages depending on the orientation of the business they run.
“But we see variations in export-oriented businesses, transportation, logistics can still be done well survive. But those who don’t have decreased quite a lot,” said Jahja.

However, Jahja saw that there was a glimmer of hope from lending in the face of Emergency PPKM. According to him, bank lending has passed its lowest point.
“We just have to add a note, we have to see first how the impact of this Emergency PPKM will be, hopefully it won’t be as severe as at the beginning of Covid. Because people are actually used to it, but we still can’t draw conclusions at this time,” he said.
