The BBVA bank inaugurated the BBVA Spark division yesterday with the intention of supporting at least 300 Mexican startups this year with advice and tailor-made financial products, although it will also give extra financing to the investment rounds that each of the ventures raises. .
José Oriol Bosch, CEO of the Mexican Stock Exchange, agreed with BBVA on the importance of unicorns, but these projects will not be listed on the national stock market, because the exchange has failed to attract new companies since 2017, but on the contrary, many companies are exiting the market.
He asserted that there is a huge market and Mexico has more than 2,500 startups, which makes it the second most important country in Latin America, after Brazil, in terms of new ventures.
