Front runner MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg keeps the pursuers Alba Berlin and Bayern Munich in the basketball Bundesliga (BBL) at a distance. Head coach John Patrick’s team won 90:81 (50:40) at BG Göttingen on Easter Monday. With 50: 4 points, Ludwigsburg remains leader of the table after 27 games, Munich had to tear something down after a mistake, Alba, on the other hand, keeps up.
The Berliners had already presented with a victory on Easter Sunday and remain on the heels of the Ludwigsburg with 44: 8 points in the table. Thanks to a strong second half, the German champions won 80:75 at Telekom Baskets Bonn. Alba took advantage of Bayern Munich’s mistake to consolidate second place in the table with the success.
Only two days after their historic play-off entry in the EuroLeague, the Munich team surprisingly lost 94:95 to Giessen 46ers, who had been bottom of the table until then. The team of coach Andrea Trinchieri, who was not in Giessen for personal reasons, has 42:12 points in third place, closely followed by EWE Baskets Oldenburg (40:12).
Ludwigsburg fell behind in Göttingen after the first quarter, but turned the game around at halftime.
